The UNITED study
The UNITED study (Uniform Noting for International application of the Tumour-stroma ratio as Easy Diagnostic tool) is an international multicenter, prospective study to validate the TSR. This research study focused on the implementation of the TSR in the clinical practice for colon carcinoma.
Final Updates on UNITED Study
The results of the UNITED study have been published in ESMO Open. The results validate the TSR as independent prognosticator confirming worse outcomes in stroma-high patients. The TSR improved current selection criteria for patients at risk of events, and will therefore be added to the TNM-classification. Furthermore, stroma-high patients potentially experience chemotherapy resistance. This predictive value of the TSR will be further validated in the UNITED II study.
